Injured Football Players Inspired By One Another
by WAPT.com – JACKSON, Miss. — A Murrah High School football player is drawing inspiration from a kindred spirit, weeks after suffering a paralyzing injury on the field.
A spinal cord injury during an Aug. 23 scrimmage at Murrah left Lawerance Williams, 17, unable to move his body below the upper chest.
But his determination isn’t wavering. He’s now going through rehab at Methodist Rehabilitation in Jackson alongside 15-year-old Justin McCray. McCray, a football player for North Forest High School in Hattiesburg, suffered a spinal cord injury on Sept. 9.
This moving video is about the incredible work being done everyday at the Miami Project To Cure Paralysis, the world’s largest spinal cord injury research center, as we work toward achieving our goal….a CURE for paralysis.
