Project Walk and Wings for Life World Run Partner to Help Find a Cure for Spinal Cord Injuries

May 4th is unlike any other day. It’s a day where people can come together all over the world, at the very same time to help bring awareness and funds to support spinal cord injury research. Project Walk Paralysis Recovery Centers is partnering with the Wings for Life World Run to support a cause that can bring a better future to an injury that affects the majority of Project Walk clients.

In addition to the partnership, Wings for Life has selected Project Walk client, Barney Miller as an official ambassador for the Santa Clarita, CA run.

“I am excited that Project Walk has committed to supporting the Wings for Life World Run,” says Barney Miller. “Having the community and team that supports me in my rehabilitation, join me on this project that is raising awareness and funds for spinal cord injury research, a cause that we’re all so collectively passionate about, is extremely important. The more people that become involved, the closer we come to finding a cure.”

The run will take place in 35 locations across the globe simultaneously but Project Walk looks to bring participants to the Santa Clarita, CA location. The run is truly for all types of athletes and more appropriately, includes a wheelchair run.

Home to Six Flags Magic Mountain, Santa Clarita is otherwise known for its outdoor lifestyle amenities including more than 70 miles of trails and ample open space, which provides a picturesque course for competitors. At 3 A.M. Pacific Time, the Santa Clarita race will begin on Magic Mountain Parkway near the roller coaster capital of the world. Since the event will take place at nighttime, a fun glow-in-the-dark theme will electrify runners and help light their pathway to their personal finish line.

“We look to partner with industry leaders and The Wings for Life World Run is nothing short of a spectacular event that supports a deserving foundation,” says Director of Operations, Brian Malkinson. “Our hope is that we can have as many Project Walk clients, family members, and supporters participating at the 3 A.M. run.”

Based on The Dardzinski Method, Project Walk is the pioneer in activity-based recovery with nearly two decades of experience working with spinal cord injuries. It’s the Project Walk mission to provide an improved quality of life for people living with a spinal cord injury, paralysis or mobility-related disorder through intense activity-based recovery backed by research and technology.
