Kessler Foundation Seeks Volunteers with Spinal Cord Injury for New Study

The Spinal Cord Injury research department at Kessler Foundation aims to promote recovery, address complications, evaluate new technologies, and better understand the experiences of people living with SCI and their families.

Dr. John O’Neill, principal investigator in Spinal Cord Injury research seeks volunteers for a spinal cord injury study. The purpose of this study is to identify ways of enhancing the use of assistive technology for individuals with spinal cord injury who live and work in New Jersey.

Improving the Usability of Assistive Technology at Work (flyer)

This study examines how people with SCI use assistive technology at work and how enhancing the use of assistive technology can increase productivity and job satisfaction.

  • In order to participate you must live and work in New Jersey, have a spinal cord injury, be employed, and use assistive technology.
  • Participants will complete an online evaluation of work-related activities (including work done at home) and how useful assistive technology is in completing these activities.
  • You will receive a $25 gift card after completing an online evaluation.
    • Based on this evaluation, we may determine that you would benefit from using enhanced assistive technology at work. In this case, an assistive technology expert would conduct a follow-up evaluation at your place of work and recommend improvements.
