Englewood’s Craig Hospital was ranked as one of the top 10 rehabilitation hospitals in the country by U.S. News & World Report, the hospital announced Thursday.
Craig, known for its treatment of patients with spinal cord injuries, ranked No. 7 this year by rehabilitation physicians in the United States.
The ranking marks the 20th consecutive year Craig was included in the top 10 list. The publication began ranking rehabilitation hospitals in 1990.
Founded in 1907, Craig has treated more than 27,000 patients since 1956 and more patients with spinal cord injuries than any other single rehabilitation hospital in the nation.
Notable patients include former Alabama Gov. George Wallace, jockey Willie Shoemaker and Detroit Lion Mike Utley.
