Northwest Regional Spinal Cord Injury System

The Northwest Regional Spinal Cord Injury System (NWRSCIS) is a regional center of spinal cord injury care, research and education in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington. Programs and services are provided at both the University of Washington Medical Center and Harborview Medical Center.

The mission of the NWRSCIS is to improve the lives of people with SCI through excellent patient care, research and education. We provide specialized care to persons with SCI, conduct clinically relevant research and disseminate the most useful, evidence-based information to people with SCI, their families and professionals.

SHORT HILLS, N.J., May 8, 2019 — The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation Paralysis Resource Center (PRC), a free, comprehensive, national service for individuals living with paralysis and their caregivers, announced today that it has provided direct counseling and assistance to over 100,000 individuals and families since its launch in 2002.

Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation Launches New Online Community

To offer greater support and strengthen peer connections across families impacted by paralysis, the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation launched a new online community, Reeve Connect.

The forum will serve as a virtual home base for individuals living with paralysis, as well as their caregivers and family members to ask questions, share experiences, and connect with others who understand the everyday challenges and intimate realities of paralysis. This project was made possible through a cooperative agreement with the Administration for Community Living (ACL).

Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation releases new edition of Paralysis Resource Guide

The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, a national nonprofit dedicated to improving quality of life for individuals living with paralysis, is pleased to announce the release of its newly updated Paralysis Resource Guide (PRG) from the Foundation’s Paralysis Resource Center (PRC). Since 2002, when the PRC was first established, the Foundation has distributed over 200,000 copies of the PRG to people living with paralysis, their caregivers and family members.

The 4th edition of the PRG has up to date paralysis-related information, topics on secondary conditions (pain, spasticity, etc.), travel, employment, disability benefits, and sports and recreation.
