MURDERBALL, the Audience Award winner for Best Documentary at the Sundance Film Festival, opened July 8th in New York and Los Angeles, and will soon be open at a theater near you. Despite enormous amounts of mainstream media attention as well as fantastic reviews, the film got off to a slow box-office start. On behalf of the producers and distributors of this film, we are asking for your help to keep it in theaters!
As you may be aware, the 15th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act is coming up in early August. This movie is a testament to the community of disabled Americans who have benefitted from this important piece of legislation. This film portrays people with disabilities as people. It depicts people with disabilities living full and successful lives in an exciting and entertaining way. What better way to celebrate this important anniversary than heading to the theater and showing your support for MURDERBALL ?
Again, we ask you on behalf of the film’s producers and distributors to please go watch the movie this weekend! Take someone with you and challenge others to go! It’s theatrical destiny beyond this coming weekend will be painfully short if the box-office return isn’t there.
