Medical student’s journey inspires UB community

Farzana Ali learned many important skills throughout her four years as a medical student in the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. But to the many people who came in contact with her along the way, it was she who was teaching valuable lessons — in patience and perseverance.

Halfway through medical school, Dinesh was involved in a catastrophic motor vehicle accident that caused a cervical spinal cord injury. He still went on to complete his Doctor of Medicine (MD) and an Advanced Clerkship in Radiology at the Harvard University.
