While employers battle the “war for talent,” there exists a significant population of talented, problem-solving people, who have been largely excluded from the workforce. This population, people with disabilities, comprises 1 billion people worldwide; 56 million Americans, and represents the world’s largest minority.
Ben Trockman, a disability advocate, aims to knockdown assumptions, rethink recruiting processes, and encourage growth of people with disabilities in the workforce. Ben Trockman serves as Community Outreach and Employment Specialist for Old National Bank, where he is dedicated to assisting the bank in becoming a leader in disability employment and inclusion. He is active within the disability advocacy community and works with legislators in Indianapolis and Washington D.C., to improve employment opportunities, airline accessibility and health care options for people with disabilities. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
