The Reeve Foundation’s Paralysis Resource Center has the largest known collection of books and videos on paralysis. You can use our online catalog to find materials on all topics related to paralysis from any cause: multiple sclerosis, stroke, cerebral palsy and spinal cord injury to name a few. We also have items on secondary conditions related to these diagnoses (pain, bladder management) as well as books on living with a disability (traveling or employment with a disability). We have a large collection of biographies from people living with paralysis as well as some fiction that features characters who are paralyzed. Our video collection features titles that include exercises for people with disabilities, documentaries, profiles of people or conditions related to paralysis as well as drama featuring characters with paralysis — think Ironside (credited with being the first wheelchair user featured on TV). We also have a children’s book collection.
Items may be checked out for 30 days for free. We loan items either through public libraries or we will mail items directly to your home with prepaid return postage.
