Spinal cord injury and new ways Ohio State Medical Center is treating consequences

Dana McTigue, PhD, explains the importance of metabolic health in patients with spinal cord injury.

Spinal cord issues cause many more problems than simply not being able to walk, and Dr. McTigue has made it her life’s work to uncover these far-reaching consequences as well as develop new treatments for people with these injuries.

Dr. McTigue is a professor and vice chair of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Department of Neuroscience at The Ohio State University, and director of Research in Ohio State’s Belford Center for Spinal Cord Injury Research.
