AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Dec. 15 — Chrysler Group President and CEO Tom LaSorda presented $50,000 to the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan (RIM) and $15,000 to the Michigan National Guard Thursday evening at the Company’s annual media holiday party.

“The holiday season is a time for giving to our loved ones and also to our communities,” said LaSorda. “At Chrysler Group we have a passion for helping the communities where we live and work throughout the year. We hope our donation will assist RIM in fulfilling its mission to help patients live full lives even with limited mobility.”

“RIM thanks the DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund for its support and this wonderful donation,” said Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan President Terry Reiley. “This is a great holiday gift and the donation will make a difference in the lives of the patients that we serve.”

RIM, founded in 1952, is part of the Detroit Medical Center and home of the Center for Spinal Cord Injury Recovery (CSCIR), the first hospital-based spinal cord injury recovery center in the U.S. The center focuses on spinal cord injury research and recovery. RIM also provides services for 1,600 inpatient and 160,000 outpatient visits a year.

The money, a DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund contribution, will be used to support therapy programs to increase mobility among patients who have suffered disabling injuries or illnesses.

The gift to the Michigan National Guard will be used to fund holiday travel arrangements for U.S. troops returning home to Michigan from Fort Dix, N.J., where they are awaiting deployment to Iraq. In addition to the support of RIM and the Michigan National Guard, Chrysler Group also donated $5,000 to the Detroit Press Club. The money will be used for scholarship programs for journalism students.

Chrysler Group has been a leading supporter of RIM. Earlier this year, LaSorda joined Baseball Hall of Fame Manager Tommy Lasorda in a fund-raiser called “Tom Meets Tommy” for the institute. More than $400,000 was raised for RIM.

In addition, in November of 2005 the Company donated a 2006 Dodge Charger to help patients recovering from a disabling injury or illness regain their ability to transfer into and eventually operate a Motor vehicle. Chrysler Group also donated an interactive “Automobility” educational kiosk that will assist people with disabilities in accessing information and products that can help them in daily life.

Now in its 54th year, the DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund is the primary source of charitable grants made by DaimlerChrysler Corporation. The Fund annually supports hundreds of charitable organizations with an emphasis on community growth and enrichment, arts and culture, education and youth development programs throughout the United States and, increasingly, the world. The Fund’s Good Neighbor, Good Citizen(R) programs in 2006 include the Motown Winter Blast, Chrysler Arts Beats and Eats, the Detroit Opera House, as well as operating support for the United Way for Southeastern Michigan.
