New York, NY (PRWeb) December 14, 2006 – AskPatty.com, Inc. announced today they will be supporting United Spinal Association in an online-based holiday fundraising effort during the month of December. The mission of United Spinal is to provide expertise, create access to resources and strengthen hope, thereby enabling people with spinal cord injuries and disorders (SCI/D) to fulfill their potential as active members of their communities.

Ask Patty has made a yearlong commitment to support United Spinal Association through donations, publicity, and partnerships. United Spinal not only supports people with spinal cord injuries and disorders in their everyday lives, but also created a Motorsports program: Living Life in Motion.

It is also to cultivate partnerships within the motorsports industry in support of the program, thus raising awareness about spinal cord injuries and disorders.

Aside from the Motorsports: Living Life in Motion, United Spinal Association offers a Motorsafe program. United Spinal Association’s Motorsafe program is a nationwide public awareness campaign promoting safe motoring and spinal cord injury prevention. United Spinal also provides consultation to businesses, which covers accessibility and Disability etiquette. About United Spinal Association:
United Spinal Association was founded in 1946 by veterans with spinal cord injuries to help enable members, as well as others with disabilities, to lead full and productive lives. Approximately 700,000 Americans have disabilities related to the spinal cord including spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, polio, spina bifida, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s disease). United Spinal is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit membership organization.

The road back to a full and productive life has been charted and paved by United Spinal Association. We have been committed to enhancing the lives of individuals with spinal cord disabilities through our various outreach activities, services and programs. United Spinal Association’s membership is free and open to all these individuals, regardless of their ages.

The core belief of the membership and the staff of United Spinal have remained unchanged for over 60 years–that, despite SCI/D, a full, pro-active, and rewarding life is not only possible, it is within the reach of anyone with the strength to believe it and the courage to make it happen.
